Death destroyed their love. Yet, can a trio of Fenian warriors roll back time to reunite two lost souls?
Crusader, Adam MacFhearguis is on one last quest to the standing stones in Scotland where he seeks to bury the past. However, a silent prayer sends him to an unknown future and to his beloved Meggie. Margaret MacKay lives a life in the future without the memories of her past—her death. When Adam arrives at her door confessing he knows her, she is confused and wary. With each passing day, she yearns to learn more from this stranger. Yet, when a truth is revealed, can she trust the man to unlock the chains from her mind and heart?

Will love free the bonds to unite the two lovers who were doomed centuries ago? Or will evil finally claim victory over the Dragon Knights?

Release Date: August 12, 2016
Excerpt:

Meggie brushed her fingers over the leather pouch. “It feels empty.”

“Are you not tempted to take a wee look inside?”

She snatched her hand back. “I’m not peering inside the man’s belongings. As soon as he wakes, he and his horse can leave.” Giving the horse a firm pat, Meggie walked out of the stall and away from her smirking cousin—only to run smack into her other cousin, Lena.

“Blast,” snapped Meggie, grabbing her cousin by the arm to help steady them both. “Sorry, didn’t see ye,” Seeing the excitement in Lena’s eyes, she stepped back. “What?”

“I hear you have a Highlander in the guest room,” she replied, giving Meggie a wink. “Are you going to share?”

Meggie placed her hands on her hips. “He’s not my Highlander. Feel free to have him, though as soon as he wakes he’s gone from here.”

Lucas strode out of the stables, wiping his hand on a cloth. “I think I’ll go introduce myself, since I think this man bothers you. You keep stating he must leave as soon as he wakes.”

Lena pushed her cousin aside. “No, Lucas. I will go check on him.”

“Ye are both crazy,” protested Meggie. “He’s just a man.” Stepping past them both, she marched away from the stables.

Approaching the entrance of the castle, her nerves tingled and the air cooled. Halting on the gravel courtyard, she slowly glanced up at the guest bedroom window. Gazing down at her was the dark Highlander. His hands were braced on either side of the glass, and Meggie could swear for an instant, she recognized him from somewhere. A dream, perhaps? The look he gave her pierced her soul, and she shivered.

“Impossible,” she muttered. “I don’t dream. And ye are leaving now.”

Breaking from his stare, Meggie entered the castle, almost running up the stairs. By the time she reached the guest room, her hands were shaking. Not even bothering to knock, she pushed open the door and stormed inside.

Her mouth became dry, unable to form the words to order this giant out of her home. His bulk blocked the light from the window as he leaned against the ledge staring at her. She was not one prone to swoon at men—any man, but this one made her a jumbled mess. Moving to the table, she picked up his sword and took it over to him. His eyes widened as she approached and she fell into their dark blue depths.

“I…um…” she stammered before continuing. “Ye should leave.” There, she got the words out.

Instead of reaching for his sword, the man lifted two fingers and caressed her cheek. She gasped, the touch searing her skin, and she took a step back. She could see the look of shock pass over his features, as if he felt the same reaction.

Meggie shoved the sword into his arms and ran for the door. Yet, when her hand touched the handle, she heard him speak.

“Dinnae leave me again, Meggie.”

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Publisher: The Wild Rose Press
Series: Earthbound
Release Date: TBA
Cover Artist: Debbie Taylor DCA Graphics

Can an Earthbound Angel overcome Djinn, shattered trust, and his own demons to regain the woman he loved--and lost?

After ten years of separation, Tessa and Alec are called to the deathbed of Tessa’s father and tasked with solving a mystery that points to WWII, the Nazi régime, and the shadowy world of the Djinn. Although their passion still burns, forgiveness requires more than desire.

Alec, the Riddle King to the Defensori, is used to shutting out the world and working on his puzzles alone. But this time, he can’t shut Tessa out. This time, he needs his estranged wife's help. Tessa and her gift hold the key, and failure could cost her sanity…or her life.

Insecurity, immaturity, and misunderstanding drove them apart. Can they rebuild their shattered trust and work together to rescue a captive Djinni, stay one step ahead of the servants of the Fallen, and save their marriage along with Tessa's life?

Excerpt:

“Tessa…” he stepped toward her and held out a hand.
“Don’t you touch me,” she warned, taking a quick step back, eyeing him warily.
Okay, so maybe he’d been an oblivious jackass. Hardly the first time, but maybe it showed progress if he’d noticed without someone else pointing it out?
“Look, I could have warned you, but frankly it just never occurred to me. You’ve had a long night, and you’re tired and hurting. I get it. I’m not happy about this, but believe it or not, I really am trying to help. I’m not the bad guy here.”
“Meaning I am?” She spat, stepping right up toe to toe, crossing her arms over her chest, and craning her neck to look directly into his face. “I fly thousands of miles, watch my father die, and then, before I can even process what that means, I am grabbed by you, of all people, and spirited off against my will without so much as a by-your-leave. And you have the audacity to stand there and tell me you’re not happy about this?”
Alec decided he definitely preferred angry Tessa. Her eyes deepened to the swirling blue of an angry sea and her chest heaved, straining the buttons of the wrinkled white blouse and thrusting her high breasts against the thin fabric. With her bright eyes snapping, red-gold curls tumbling over her shoulders, and her cheeks hot and flushed, pissed or not, she was freakin’ magnificent.

Beast of All: A Carus Novel, Book 5
By
JC McKenzie
Release Date: October 19, 2016
Cover Art by Debbie Taylor from DCA Graphics

“Two months ago my world collapsed and the beast reigned. Seven weeks ago the SRD captured me. Nine days ago, they injected me with something vile. Today, I break free. And tomorrow? I’ll make them pay.”

Badass Shifter Andy McNeilly wakes up from a horrible nightmare, only to discover it wasn’t a dream, and she’s no longer quite so badass. Chemically curbed, Andy has lost touch with her feras and beast when she needs them most. Can she regain control of her supernatural abilities in time to reap retribution from her enemies, or will she fall as fodder in a power play for control of Vancouver’s seedy underworld?

EXCERPT:
No feras. No beast. Whatever they shot me with blocked my communication with the animals. Did it prevent shifting as well? I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to call a form and change. Only a headache answered. Dread flittered across my skin. Was this permanent?
As the Carus, the genetic throwback to the first demi-god progeny of the beast goddess, I caged a beast with rage and power rivaled by few, and possessed more than one animal familiar to shift into.
At least, I did until the SRD shot me full of chemicals. Would I ever regain my abilities? Hear the indignant screech of the peregrine falcon? Or the lusty purr of the mountain lion? Or soulful howl of the wolf?
My heart hammered, punching bone. A buzzing sensation filled my head. The “wrongness” of my condition grated against my nerves, slicing them into slivers like a planer shucking off wood shavings.
Something in my abdomen swelled, as if the beast pushed against whatever barrier caged and hid her from me.
I’ll get you out, I told her, not knowing if she could hear. We’ll make them pay.

Sharon Buchbinder has been writing fiction since middle school and has the rejection slips to
prove it. Graduating with a BA in Psychology and no job, she realized her dreams of working in
the attic writing great novels would have to take a back seat to the simple pleasures of eating,
drinking, and having a roof over her head. After working in health care delivery for years, she
became a researcher, association executive, a Registered Nurse and an academic with a PhD in
Public Health. She had it all—a terrific, supportive husband, an amazing son, a wonderful job and numerous nonfiction titles, but that itch to write stories (some call it an obsession), kept her coming back to fiction. When not writing, she can be found reading, fishing, walking her dogs, or cooking and
enjoying a good meal and laughter with friends and family.

Save the Date!!!  MAGICAL WEDDINGS!!!

I'm thrilled to welcome my good friend, Jan Romes to tell us a little something about LOVING LINDY, part of the exciting  box set coming June 16, MAGICAL WEDDINGS.
LOVING LINDY is sweet contemporary romance; part of the Magical Weddings box set. There are 15 stories in all; each with a different flavor to suit most readers tastes.

Picture
In every romance or love story there’s a certain kind of magic. Sometimes the enchantment isn’t so obvious. In LOVING LINDY it’s definitely not apparent. Lindy McPherson and Gunther Justin seem to have endless encounters regarding his dog, Bankston, who’s more of a backhoe than a dog. Bankston repeatedly tears up Lindy’s flowers and garden. There’s a constant wall of crankiness between Lindy and Gunther – until Gunther’s in a pinch and needs someone to pose as his fiancée. The bank he works for wants someone who’s “settled”. Gunther thinks he can bluff his way into the position with Lindy at his side. For reasons Lindy doesn’t quite understand, she agrees to be temporarily engaged. Everything is set to go off without a hitch but somehow real feelings get in the way.

There’s magic afoot in the midst of a ruse!

A snippet from LOVING LINDY:

“You destroyed my trash can!”
The familiar voice of the man she seemed to have continuous encounters with for one reason or another made Lindy’s head snap up and her pulse beat erratically.
Gunther Justin stood at the edge of the driveway glaring with his arms crossed and feet wide apart.
That was a defensive stance if Lindy had ever seen one. She didn’t have time for defensive stances. She especially didn’t have time to notice the navy blue stretch shorts and plain white tee that showed off Gunther’s muscular build. “The wind blew it into my path.”
“Brakes. They’re called brakes. Before you hit it you could’ve applied the brakes.”
“I’ll buy you a new one after I get off work.” Lindy picked up the obliterated plastic and carefully placed it in his yard. “I have to go or I’ll be late.”
Gunther said something under his breath Lindy couldn’t quite make out. If his expression was any indication, the comment couldn’t have been good.
It’s a trash can, for crying out loud; not a priceless artifact. Climbing back in the car, Lindy slammed the door. She looked in every direction at least three times and proceeded into the roadway before speeding down Birch Street.
Thrumming the steering wheel when she had to stop for the red light at Walnut Street, Lindy thought about why she and Gunther kept crossing paths. She wholeheartedly believed you encountered people for a reason. Was he one of those tests a person got from time to time to make you aware of your strengths and weaknesses?

No Sweat Pants Allowed – Wine Club

I'm always happy to welcome the wonderful Jan Romes to the blog! Jan writes fun, romantic stories filled with character that you can't help but love!  Check out her newest release,  No Sweat Pants Allowed – Wine Club!
Picture
‘A Note from Jan…

As many of you know, my genre is romance. I’ve decided to also take the plunge into women’s fiction with this book. This story has been bouncing through my thoughts for a long time and I decided it was time to breathe life into the characters who were begging for attention.

No Sweat Pants Allowed – Wine Club is Elaina Samuels’ story but it couldn’t happen without Tawny Westerfield, Stephanie Mathews and Grace Cordray.

Life has given them lemons, but the lemonade they make is darn tasty. Their journeys to get life right-side-up are hilarious and heartrending, sarcastic and sassy. They deliver mayhem and mischief, and a few powerful messages, too.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention, Stony, the adorable Siberian Husky who tries to steal the show on more than one occasion.

Let the fun begin!
Love,
Jan

Blurb:

Suddenly single, in her forties, and eager to do what it takes to start over, Elaina Samuels meets three women with similar circumstances at a cash-for-gold event. They quickly become friends and form the No Sweat Pants Allowed – Wine Club. This newly found alliance brings about some humorous escapades, a few tears, and a bond so strong no man can break as they try to cling to the past and finally step out of their comfort zones to find a happiness they thought they’d never feel again.

Opening scene:

Sandwiched between two very large guys – one who smelled like he’d eaten a dozen cloves of garlic, the other who must’ve bathed in beer – Elaina Samuels, checked her watch, shifted from foot to foot, and finally inhaled; not because she wanted to, but a girl could only hold her breath for so long before turning blue and passing out.

Leaning around the wide back of garlic-man to hawk-eye the front of the line, Elaina grumbled under her breath, “Come on, people. How long does it take to get rid of your unwanted gold?”

Garlic-man did a half-turn. “I know, right?” His gaze roamed over her, sending a cold shiver up Elaina’s spine. Lingering at her chest for an inordinately long moment, he moved up to meet her eyes with a salacious smile and a large chunk of broccoli wedged between his front teeth.

It wasn’t a whole spear, but it stuck out like one.

Elaina fought the urge to point to the funky green stuff. Instead, she squinted with reproach.

The smelly man appeared unaffected by her glare. “Who’s doing all the whimpering?”

Elaina had also heard the woeful sounds. Slightly nauseous from the combination of scents assaulting her airspace, with her last nerve hanging by a fragile thread, she replied blandly, “I have no idea.” If the pungent doofus didn’t face forward, he’d soon be plucking poison darts from his forehead; not that she had any darts, but if she did he’d be in a world of hurt.

The husky man behind, slurred his two cents about the weepy woman in the back of the store. “What’s her deal? If she didn’t want to part with her jewelry, why come here?”

Elaina was torn between telling them both to mind their own beeswax and actually finding some darts to impale their foreheads. “What are you guys, the jewelry police?”

Here's an excerpt:

Grant sipped his beer and surveyed the room around them—anywhere but at the siren next to him, with her fancy drink, an umbrella hanging off the side. Overhead lights strobed the room, gleaming in all directions. The DJ announced a new song and a new crowd rushed to the dance floor, leaving them more alone in the back of the room. Thank God.
It was stifling hot. He tugged his collar from his neck and rolled the sleeves of his white button-up. His glasses slid down his nose, forcing him to take them off and put them in his shirt pocket.
Luckily in that part of the room, the music wasn’t so loud that they had to scream to converse. He only raised his voice a fraction to ask her the question he’d been wondering since they set foot in the place. “So, you think this is romantic enough for a Valentine's date?"
She batted her long lashes in his direction and smirked. “There’s low lights.”
“Yeah and loud music, people all around.” To help prove his point, someone bumped him in the back, pushing him closer to Lexi. His hand circled her waist and rested on her hip.
She sipped the drink, moving the umbrella with her other hand, then licked her lips. “It’sthe place to be. All trendy couples find their way here.” She cocked her head. “What would make it more romantic? Kissing?”
A slow smile formed and he faced her. Not a bad idea. “Actually, yeah.” He placed his bottle on the table behind them, cracked his knuckles and stretched his neck.
She laughed nervously, putting her weight on another sexy as hell foot. “What? You’re gonna kiss me? For real?”
“We need romance.” He grabbed her cup and put it next to his bottle. His gaze dropped to her mouth.
“You kissing me won’t—”
He placed his thumb on her lips. “Shhh. Stop talking so we can be romantic.”

Excerpt:

Thump! Thump! Thump!

No! She gasped. It couldn’t be. The banging on the front door of the booktique had to be a figment of her imagination. She couldn’t will Lon into existence. Why would he come back? Especially if he was involved. Unless…cold ice prickled up her spine…unless he needed to eliminate her to take care of loose ends.

No. Crazy thoughts, Willa. He could’ve taken care of her the night before. No, her heart hammered against her chest for a different reason. But it didn’t matter. The knocking on the door wouldn’t, couldn’t be him.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Could it? She clutched her hot mug in both hands and turned toward the doorway leading to the bookstore. From the kitchen in the back room, she had a clear view through the store to the front door, but not who stood on the other side.

“Willa!” Lon growled. “Wake up and let me in!”

Willa gasped and almost dropped her cup. The tea sloshed around and some spilled over her hands. It burned, but she didn’t move. She couldn’t breathe. Somehow the air got trapped inside her throat. Why was he here? What did he want?

Oh God, let it be me!
