Snippet Sunday-Undiscovered Angel

Here is another little snippet from my paranormal romance, UNDISCOVERED ANGEL which will be released from The Wild Rose Press.

The heat in the room felt suddenly oppressive and Kat found that her heart was racing far too fast. A flock of butterflies seemed to have taken flight somewhere in the region of her stomach and quickly rose to clog her throat with furiously beating wings, stealing her breath. Unconsciously, she took a step back, but the wall brought her up short. McAllister moved forward at the same time, bringing her nose-to-incredibly-well-muscled-chest with him, and forcing her to tilt her neck back painfully to meet his gaze.  Kat's few awkward and painful forays into the world of men could never have prepared her for Kassian McAllister. She guessed he didn't spend an awful lot of time languishing behind a desk.

The blurb:
Empath Katrina Shepard spends most of her time alone, preferring solitude to the constant battering from the pain and emotion of others. When she meets publishing tycoon Kassian McAllister at a party in honor of her best friend, Kat finds that she isn't the only one with strange psychic powers. That night, Kat intercepts the malevolent energy of a woman's murder, and Kassian is compelled to act, taking her under his protection. A quest for vengeance has been this Earthbound angel's closest companion for the last century, but Kat reawakens emotions he thought long dead. As Kat and Kassian grow closer, she discovers the truth about herself and sees a chance for belonging she has always craved. But Jack the Ripper is still roaming the Earth and Kat has become the ideal target. Will Kassian finally have his revenge on the Whitechapel killer or lose yet another woman he loves?

Loved her thought process. Well done showing that's she's uncomfortable and hinting at why.

Sounds like a great read, btw!

Oh, dear---maybe she should start a bit smaller and work up to handsome hunks with lovely pectorals? :D
